Meet The Author: Francis Spufford
Stepping the literary world, Francis Spufford is an esteemed author known for his remarkable non-fiction and historical fiction writings. He began his academic journey at the reputable Cambridge University. Though initially embarking on a non-fiction career, Francis’ talent for storytelling was undeniable. This storytelling prowess soon guided him towards polar literature, and ultimately to the blending of fiction and history in his creation of Red Plenty. However, the crowning achievement in his literary journey was his complete plunge into the fiction world in 2016, with his groundbreaking work Golden Hill.
Adding to his impressive portfolio, Francis served as a Royal Literary Fund fellow at Anglia Ruskin University from 2005 to 2007, and has bridged the gap between authorship and academia by teaching at Goldsmiths College in London on the M.A. in Creative and Life Writing since 2008.
