The Life and Literary Journey of Barbara Parker
Born in 1947 and departed in 2009, Barbara Parker was a celebrated American mystery writer. She’s best known for her series, the Gail Connor & Antonius Quintana, also popular as the Suspicion series. Her educational background was deeply rooted in the University of South Florida, majoring in Theatre arts. Adding to her educational prowess, she holds a legal degree from the prestigious University of Miami School of Law.
Before her sparkling writing career, she served as a prosecutor in the state attorney’s office in Florida. She later started her own firm, practicing law for eight years. The desire to diversify her career path and to create writings for her son to read led her to the world of art and creativity. Thus, she decided to step down from her own firm and worked as a paralegal to dedicate enough time for her writing.
The Inception of Barbara’s Writing Career
In 1994, Parker embarked on her writing path by publishing her initial piece in the Suspicion series titled Suspicion of Innocence. Furthermore, in the same year, she released a standalone edition called Blood Relations. Sadly, Parker left us before she could finish her last standalone novel, The Reckoning. Nevertheless, her pieces of work remained a treasure for the fans of mystery and suspense.
