Born into a family of profound thinkers and intellectuals, he is the offspring of literary critic, Olof Lagercrantz, and the grandchild of eminent philosopher, Hans Ruin. Academically, his roots lie in philosophy, nurturing his wisdom through detailed studies of doctrine and faith, before making a career transition to journalism, graduating from the renowned journalism school in Gothenburg.
Embarking on his Literary Voyage
Embarking on his journalistic journey, Lagercrantz first found his footing with the Volvo magazine before joining the ranks of the Expressen daily tabloid. Here, he fused the art of storytelling with real-life criminal cases, bringing the chilling Amsele murders under a fresh spot-light.
From Adventure to Fiction: A Diverse Range of Books in Order
Lagercrantz’s literary craft debuted with a biography in 1997, centered around the adventures of Swedish mountaineer, Göran Kropp. Entitled Ultimate High, the book found its way to English readers in 2000. However, the year 2001 witnessed the author’s shift from fact to fiction as he published his first novel-Stjarnfall. His fictional narrative first reached English audiences with Fall of Man in Wilmslow, published in 2015.
