Meet the Author: Gail Oust
Known for her gripping page-turners, Gail Oust is an acclaimed American writer, effortlessly wearing the hats of both historic Latin novel author (under the name, Elizabeth Turner) and cozy mystery novelist. Born and bred in America, Gail has resided in several parts of the country, from Chicago and upstate New York to the Detroit suburbs, with her life partner, Bob.
Inspired by the charm of her South Carolina town, which greatly mirrors the quaint setup of Kate McCall’s hometown from her Bunco Babes series, Gail made a smooth transition from writing historical romances to crafting suspenseful and intriguing cozy mysteries. A change that wasn’t challenging, considering her long-standing love for mystery stories from her early Nancy Drew reading days.
Gail’s Publishing Journey
Gail embarked on her authorial journey in 1986 under the name Elizabeth Turner, marking her literary debut with the novel Sweet Possession. Entering the cozy mystery genre in 2009, Gail published her first mystery novel, Whack ‘n’ Roll, which was later reissued as Murder is Dicey.
