Michael Morris hails from a long lineage of native residents in Perry, Florida – his heritage spanning across five generations. After graduating from Auburn University, Morris honed his writing skills further by earning an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. His initial foray into the world of literature began whilst balancing his work in the pharmaceutical industry and attending evening sessions under the guidance of author Tim McLaurin at North Carolina State University. This culminated in his first novel, A Place Called Wiregrass – a piece that so magnificently captivated its readers that it won the Christy Award for Best First Novel. Michael now resides in Alabama with his cherished wife, Melanie.
