The Storied Life of Joan D. Vinge
Standing as a pillar in the realms of science fiction and fantasy writing, Joan D. Vinge is an exemplar American author whose literary gifts are unrivaled. She has penned down masterpieces like the Snow Queen Cycle, the Cat series, and the Heaven’s Chronicles series.
Academically, Joan wasn’t always inclining towards the literary world. In fact, she completed her B.A. in Anthropology from San Diego State University, carving a disparate career avenue. Eventually, however, her passion for storytelling encapsulated her, leading Joan to becoming a beloved instructor on several occasions at the SF & F shop Clarion workshop.
When she steps away from her wordsmith persona, Joan showcases her talents in artistry, crafting and marketing dolls. Joan abodes in Green Valley, Arizona, sharing her life with her husband, eminent science fiction editor, James Frenkel.
